Santa Fe

We drove the Turquoise Trail (Rt. 14) up to Santa Fe today. It was another beautiful day. We stopped to take a photo of the cacti growing everywhere along the roadside. Some are blooming already. The soil here looks so parched; it's all cracked.
Santa Fe is really nice and clean. The old section of town is really neat. Almost all the buildings here are adobe style, even the grocery stores and some car dealerships. We enjoyed the central plaza where everyone seems to gather around noon. Everyone seemed relaxed though not on siesta.
We're still waiting for a date for Joe's surgical procedure; hopefully by tomorrow we'll know something. If they can take him late next week, we'll go on the Grand Canyon and come back here for the surgery.
Well, it's supper time and we're grilling out tonight. Tomorrow we're going to take the Sandia Peak tram (the world's longest). I think we'll go about dusk so we can see Albuquerque come alive with lights.
Later.
